Another sunny evening, another baseball match for Birchleaf, playing our 2nd of 3 matches this week. This fixture was a rematch from the first game of the season which was rained off. Unfortunately Gloden were only able to field a side of 8 so it was always going to be an uphill battle for them. Still they put in a good effort and a fun game was had by all.
Gloden won the toss and opted to field first. With a full strength side Birchleaf knocked 105 runs before declaring with 3 players standing. Glodens first innings saw them knock 12 with no extras. They were put straight back into bat where they clocked up 28 including 2 extras. Both teams enjoyed some friendly banter and an enjoyable game was had by all, with Birchleaf taking the 2 points.
