Eastern Ladies v Birchleaf - Tuesday 19th May 2015

After a torrid day of weather the pitch held up well so game went ahead on time. Eastern won the toss and elected to field first. Birchleaf knocked a very strong 82 with some high scoring runners in Louise Foward, Lisa Payne, Jayne Hobby and Rhiannon Davies. Eastern replied with 48 giving Birchleaf the opportunity to put Eastern straight back into bat. Eastern, however found their flow and knocked a very respectable 76 in their 2nd innings. Needing only 48 runs to win, and after a very strong first innings, Birchleaf went back into bat. However, Eastern obviously had their confidence back, and Birchleaf made too many mistakes, scoring only 30, and handing the win to Eastern Ladies. A great game was had by all though and Birchleaf look to the return game to exact their revenge.
