A very close game between Birchleaf and Llandaff North. Both sides played tight in the field. Llandaff won the toss and opted to bat first. Two were caught out and a whopping 8 were out going to base 1 thanks to great play by Jayne Hobby on base 1 and daughter Leigh Hobby backstopping. Llandaff North ended their first innings with an uncharacteristic score of 31.
Birchleaf stepped up to bat their first innings, scoring 24 with five caught out and 4 out going to base 1.
In the second innings Llandaff hit 60 leaving Birchleaf needing 69 to win. It turned out to be too big an ask, Birchleak hitting 44 all out, and so the points went to Llandaff North who won by 23 runs all counted.
Birchleafs Man Of The Match was well deserved by Ellie O'Brien who had an amazing game in the field with a cracking catch and also hitting a home run on the bat leaving her last on the pegs along side her sister Chloe O'Brien and fellow youngster Gemma Williams. Llandaff north struggled to get the last three girls out who went around the diamond repeatedly. Player of the match for Llandaff North was Rhiannon Keefer.
